On September 6, 2016, in a besieged neighborhood in Aleppo, Syria, the Syrian government is suspected of dropping chlorine bombs on the residential neighborhood of Sukkari. One resident of the neighborhood told the Washington Post that when he arrived to help people, he was confused because of the lack of blood. "There was no trace of shrapnel or gaping wounds or anything like that, which I thought was odd. They were just coughing intensely and having trouble breathing, and there was this smell as if a swimming pool had exploded in the area." More than 100 are hospitalized for oxygen treatments.
