Divisional Championship—NFC: Carolina (12-4) qualified over San Francisco (12-4) by winning both regular season games; Dallas (10-6) over Philadelphia (10-6) with a better record (7-4 vs. 6-5) in games with common opponents.

Wild Card berths—AFC: Indianapolis (9-7) qualified over Kansas City (9-7) with a head-to-head victory; Jacksonville (9-7) over Kansas City with a better conference record. NFC: Minnesota (9-7) qualified over Washington (9-7) with a better conference record.
