Landslides in Uganda Kill 5

On June 5, at least five people died after heavy rains led to landslides in Uganda. There are dozens of people missing and rain is expected to get worse. (Reuters)

Storm Miguel Hits France

On June 7, Storm Miguel, an unusual storm at this time, hit France. As rescue boats went out in the water, the storm struck again, killing 3 crew members. No other deaths have been reported thus far. (BBC)

Heatwave in West Coast

Cyclone Vayu Hits India

On June 15, Cyclone Vayu made way towards parts of India. Experts are predicting that the intensity will decrease as the cyclone rages on. (CNN)

Earthquake Strikes China

On June 17, the eleventh person died after two earthquakes struck southwestern China. Over 122 people were injured. Rescuers are still searching the rubble. (Reuters)

France Heatwave Continues

On June 26, some schools in France closed due to the ongoing heatwave. The heatwave is expected to reach 113 degrees Fahrenheit. The schools that shut down lack sufficient air conditioning for this level of heat. (BBC)
