Miyakonojo

Miyakonojo mēˌyäkənōˈjō [key], city (1990 pop. 130,153), Miyazaki prefecture, S Kyushu, Japan. It is an important railway junction and commercial center with textile, dairy product, agricultural, and lumber industries. It was a castle town of the Shimazu family in the 11th cent.
