- A wildfire of as-yet undetermined cause breaks out in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California on Monday Sept. 26, 2016. The Loma fire, located just south of San Francisco, is threatening more than 300 structures and as of Wednesday, 22% contained, with almost 3,000 acres burned. More than 1,700 fire personnel are actively working to contain the blaze.
