Had this not been DreamWorks's feature film debut, it may have been considered a passable action thriller. But critics and moviegoers anticipated an over-the-top, edge-of-your-seat blowout. That it's not, but it's not as bad as the drubbing it took. A Russian general hijacks a train and makes off with 10 nuclear warheads. Slightly lecherous Army intelligence officer Thomas Devoe (Clooney) teams up with the slightly priggish head of the White House Nuclear Smuggling Group, Julia Kelly (Kidman), to track down the weapons. The pair furiously race around the globe and end up back in the United States when one of the warheads ends up in the hands of a bitter Bosnian who plans to blow up the UN and all of Manhattan.
