The Farrelly Brothers of There's Something About Mary return to the big screen with another adventure in tastelessness cooked up like gourmet cuisine. Me, Myself, and Irene stars Jim Carrey, who uses his creepiness and elasticity to good effect. Ordinarily, he's Charlie, the calm state trooper who is father to three black geniuses who speak in advanced Ebonics. Years of petty humiliations mount until Charlie explodes into advanced hallucinatory schizophrenia, assuming the outrageously cruel persona of Hank.

The plot for the Farrelly Brother's palette of off-color capers isn't really crucial here, although it involves a love interest (Renée Zellweger), a crime Charlie's trying to solve with her assistant, Charlie's lost medication, an albino, etc. It allows Carrey to do some amazing performances battling with himself. Me, Myself, and Irene is no There's Something About Mary, but these brothers have a particularly apt, studied brand of nobrow humor romping with easygoing "nice guy wins" themes that make their movies a pleasure to watch.
