Francis Crick
Age: 88molecular biologist who in 1959 with James Watson codiscovered the double-helical structure of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), the chemical that carries hereditary characteristics from generation to generation. They won the 1962 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for their work, along with Maurice Wilkins. Crick's later work included research on protein synthesis and embryonic development.
