Age: 94former chairman of the board of the NY Mets from their inception in 1962 to 1978 when he was voted out by the team's eight-man board; won two pennants and one World Series with the Mets; infamous for trading fan-favorite Tom Seaver to Cincinnati in 1977; reportedly wouldn't allow the NY Jets football team play at Shea Stadium until after the baseball season, prompting the team's move to the Meadowlands before the 1984 season; was a director of the NY Giants baseball team before moving to the Mets and was the lone vote in opposition to their move to San Francisco; his father Mike is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame; of a long illness
