children's book publisherWith his wife, Ethel McCullough Scott, William Scott opened a small publishing house, W.R. Scott in 1938, offering literary works for children. Margaret Wise Brown, author of the classic Goodnight Moon, was his first editor. The Scotts published more than 400 books before selling their business to Addison-Wesley.
