The eight regional winners of the 48-team field: NORTHEAST—Adelphi (31-0); EAST—Queens-NC (26-5); SOUTH ATLANTIC—Johnson C. Smith (27-4); SOUTH—Tampa (24-6); SOUTH CENTRAL—Washburn (27-4); GREAT LAKES—Kentucky Wesleyan (28-3); NORTH CENTRAL—Southwest St. (28-6); WEST—Western Wash. (26-3).
The Elite Eight was played March 21-24, at Bakersfield, Calif. There was no Third Place game.
