2001 Tour Final Rankings
Official Top 20 rankings and money leaders of men's and women's tours for 2000 and unofficial rankings for 2001 (through Sept. 16), as compiled by the ATP Tour (Association of Tennis Professionals) and WTA (Women's Tennis Association). Note that money lists include doubles earnings.
Listed are tournaments won and times a finalist and semifinalist (Finish, 1-2-SF), match record (W-L), and points earned (Pts). The ATP Champions Race replaced the men's pro tennis tour's 27-year-old computer ranking system in 2000. Under the new system players start from zero on Jan. 1 and accumulate points during the calendar year with the player accumulating the most points becoming the World No. 1. Points are awarded in 18 tournaments: nine Tennis Masters Series events, four Grand Slams and five other International Series events.
MEN
Final ATP Tour singles rankings will be based on points earned from 18 tournaments played in 2001. Tournaments, titles and match won-lost records are for 2001 only.
