<1> City (2020 pop. 6481), seat of Highland co., SW Oh.;
founded 1807. It was long a center of bell making and is known for its
annual Festival of the Bells. <2> City (2020 pop. 106,477),
seat of Washington co., NW Oreg., in the Tualatin valley; inc. 1876.
Integrated circuits, other high-tech products, furniture, plastics, and
medical equipment are manufactured in this growing city in Oregon's
“Sunset Corridor.” Meats and fruits and vegetables are
processed and packed, there are wineries, and timber is also important.
Settled c.1845, Hillsboro has a pioneer museum and cemetery and a notable
old Scottish church. <3> City (2020 pop. 8,221), seat of
Hill co., central Tex. It is known for its Victorian homes and historic
courthouse, with many buildings on the National Registry of Historic Places.
Country singer Willie Nelson
hails from the area. Hill College is located
there.
