Beaird has revealed that this turgid melo-comedy about a terminally ill, rich patriarch who taunts his greedy relatives is partly autobiographical. There's a morphine-addicted matriarch, incest, racial revenge and ricocheting expletives. The title reflects the address of the Louisiana mansion where all this Tennessee Williams-eque dysfunction resides. Despite its obviously derivative touches, the play boasts a powerful script and solid performances from its eclectic ensemble, especially “name-brand” stars Cryer and Crooke, as well as Evans as the exasperated maid and Dillahunt and Pyle as the cozy brother and sister.
