Sixteen-year-old gangbanger Blue Monroe (Seda) is dying of abdominal cancer and believes his only hope is a sacred lake that will cleanse him of his ills. Monroe kidnaps his doctor (Harrelson) and off they go in the doctor's $160,000 Porsche in search of the magical Arizona lake. Once in New Age country, Monroe and Dr. Reynolds reach harmonic convergence, helped by the fact that the doctor's older brother also died a painful death from cancer and is still haunted by the image of his brother asking him to pull the plug on his life support. An odd but well-acted role for Harrelson.
