U.S. vice president, became the Democratic presidential nominee in Aug. at the Democratic National Convention. Gore defeated former Sen. Bill Bradley in all 16 states on Super Tuesday. When faced with an unexpected challenge from Bradley, Gore shed his stiff navy suits and donned khakis and denim shirts, moved his campaign from Washington to Tennessee, and went into attack mode, picking apart Bradley's health-care plan and his record in the senate.
