Paul Brechler

first commissioner of the Western Athletic Conference; became the youngest athletic director in Big Ten history when Iowa hired him at the age of 37; became commissioner of the Skyline Conference in 1960 before moving to the WAC in 1961; after a brief term as the University of California's athletic director he presided over the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference until 1990; cause of death undisclosed
